Pamplona is a city in Navarra which is famous for the festival where Bulls run through the streets otherwise known as San Fermín festival. This festival runs every year between the dates 6th July to July 14th. In 2010, Pamplona Airport´s new terminal opened which allowed the capacity of the airports traffic to double. The new terminal facilities include 9 check in desks, a couple of extra checkpoints of security, extra boarding gates and baggage reclaim and another carousel for "Special Baggage!.
You can fly from Pamplona to Madrid and Barcelona airports with Air Nostrum LA Mediterraneo which is a branch of the Spanish carrier Iberia. So if you are thinking of visiting here from the UK or Ireland you need to get a flight into one of those airports to get a connection.
If someone is picking you up when you arrive then the best place to meet is in the Medas Cafe which is in the public arrivals area. This is easy to find and is the only place to get something to eat and drink at the airport. Also don't wait until you are leaving the airport to buy any duty free goods as the only shop here is in the cafe selling food and drink, souvenirs and small gifts.
The options you have to get from the airport to your final destination are to hire a car (there are four rent a car agencies with desks in the arrivals hall): book a private transfer where your driver will be met you at the airport or catch a taxi from the rank outside the terminal.
The bus which used to connect the airport with Pamplona is no longer running and there are no train services at the airport.
In 2015 Pamplona Airport registered a total of 148.710 passengers and 5.697 aircraft movements.
