Melilla Airport is in the Spanish territory of Melilla which is situated in mainland North Africa. It is about a 90 minutes drive from the border to Morocco. It is located four kilometres southwest of the city centre. With access via the ML-204, which connects it to the city and the ML-300 ring road that links all the various districts in the city of Melilla.

The airport opened in 1969 and offers a number of domestic flights to airports on mainland Spain including Granada, Malaga, Alicante, Madrid and Valencia.
In 2015 Melilla Airport handled 317.806 passengers and 8.409 flight operations.
Melilla's air, sea and land connection make it an ideal place to fly into and stay if you want to visit Morocco but remain in the European Community.
