The airport at Ibiza is just 7.5KM to the south-west of the town of Ibiza (Eivissa) near San José. It is also 5 km from the San Jorge area of Ibiza. The main access road is the PM/801 motorway. Or an alternative route is the PM/803 San José motorway taking the Km4 exit.
There is one modern single storey terminal at Ibiza Airport which caters for a wide range of both domestic and international flights with around 85% of passengers arriving during the months May-October.
There are several different transport options available to passengers wanting to get to their final destination with several car hire rental desks situated side by side in the arrivals hall.
nUMBER 10 buses operate a shuttle service between the airport and the central bus terminal in Ibiza Town..
There is no railway at the airport but Ibiza has a small road driven locomotive tourist train operating between San Antonio - Ignacio - Santa Eulalia and Alfredo. There’s a stop over at Santa Ines for refreshments and another stop at the top of El Mirador so that passengers can take some spectacular photos.
The airport taxi rank is outside the terminal with two operators offering vehicles for passengers with reduced mobility. According to the time and day the trip to Ibiza Town from the airport should cost around €15,00 weekdays from 19:00-21:00 and around €17,00 at weekends and after 21:00 during the week.
Ibiza started as a temporary airport during the Spanish Civil War and first opened its doors to passengers in 1959 since when it has been extended and modernised. In 2015 Ibiza Airport handled 6.477.283 passengers with 64.612 flight operations.
