Almeria Airport handles a number of direct and indirect internal flights on a daily basis. The main Spanish airports with direct flights to Almeria are Barcelona, Madrid Barajas, Melilla, Palma de Mallorca and Seville.
It is a small modern airport but other European airports you can fly to or from include Brussels and Dusseldorf.
You can fly to Almeria from UK airports Nottingham East Midlands (Ryanair), London Gatwick (easyJet), London Stansted (Ryanair) and Manchester (Monarch).
During the summer months charter companies fly here with flythomascook offering holiday packages from London Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester. Thomson Flights also offer deals from Manchester.
Almeria is an easy airport to find your way around as arrivals and departures are on the ground floor where there is a large terrace overlooking the runway.
It is worth checking what the charter companies have on offer during the high season as if they have spare seats on their flights you can often buy them for good prices. The only problem is that you need to be flexible on when you are flying as they often only operate one or two days a week: and they tend to be on the less popular midweek days.
Almeria Airport is just 8km from the city centre, with good public transport links from the bus station and railway in the city centre to the province's other main tourist destinations including Cabo de Gata, Aguadulce, Roquetas de Mar, Garrucho, El Ejido and Mojacar.
