There are no direct UK flights into Melilla so your best bet is to get into one of the four Spanish Airports that fly there and catch a connecting flight: they are Almeria, Granada, Madrid Barajas and Malaga Costa del Sol. All of the flights are with the same scheduled Spanish airline: Air Nostrum LA Mediterraneo.
The airport is only 3km from the city centre and there are no bus or train services at the airport so you either need to hire a car to get there or there is a taxi rank outside the arrivals hall and it will cost around €6,00 for the journey.
If you are leaving early or arriving on a late flight the closest hotels to the airport are the Hotel Melia Puerto, Parador de Melia and Hotel Rusadir.
Melilla is only a small airport so the distance between the check in desks and boarding gates is not too far, but if you do have mobility problems and need some assistance make sure you notify the airline you are travelling at least 48 hours in advance so that they can organise a wheelchair.
If you are planning on hiring a car from the airport then the only rent a car company there is Rent a Car Melilla who offer an online book service so that you can prebook the vehicle and order and extras like child seats to be fitted when you make the reservation. Booking in advance saves a lot of time when you go to collect the car and also makes sure there is one available.
