You can find the taxi rank outside the main arrivals terminal. There are always plenty of vehicles lined up waiting and the queue tends to move very quickly.
They are all official licensed taxis at the airport, but a good way to check when you are hiring one in one of the resorts is that they should have a green light on the roof or the window and on the back bumper look for a small plate displaying the initials SP.
If you don't like the idea of queing or are travelling in a party of more than 4 people (Spanish taxi drivers are only licensed to carry a maximum of 4 passengers) you might prefer to prebook a private transfer when the driver will meet you in the arrivals hall.
Also the taxis do not provide child restraints or baby seats, so if you want your family to travel in safety you can request them to be fitted when you book a private transfer.
The fares have two price bands: Fare 1: (from 06:00-22:00 weekdays): Fare 2: (22:00-06:00 and all day during holidays) plus there is an airport supplement of €1.65.
