Santander is located in Cantabria in the north of the Spain's Basque Country. It is a beautiful and unspoiled region of rough terrain, marked by high mountains such as the Picos de Europa, with broad valleys, a cliff-lined coast and a series of river estuaries.
Santander has often been described as Spain's most elegant city with its extraordinary landscape overlooking the Bay of Biscay.The climate throughout much of the year is rainy, so the area is covered with lush green trees and rolling green hills which surround the city.
