The four car firms can be found to the left of the luggage carousels in the arrivals hall. Once you have presented your credit card, driving licence and signed the agreement you can pick up your hire car from the front of the terminal building which is about a two minute walk away.

Make sure you check with the representative what the deal is regarding petrol, ie: does it hav a full tank and you pay for what you use, or do you have to return the vehicle with a full tank, etc. If it does need to be filled there is a petrol station near to the airport which tends to be expensive and you are better off using the one near to town.

The drive from Reus Airport to the city centre is very quick and straightforward with the 5km journey taking between 10-15 minutes. Just take the exit road which runs parallel to the runway past the Aeroclub on your left and then turn right at the end of this road on to the T11 and follow the signposts into Reus. Although Ryanair is the only flight operator at the airport, two years ago after falling out with the local government it made a huge cut in its routes and destinations and removed its base to Barcelona.

Some flights were reinstated in 2012 which means the summer season is now busier, so if you are going to hire a car make sure you do it well in advance to make sure you get the vehicle you want. Also you usually get a better deal by pre-booking.

There are good public transport links in this area (buses and trains), but the best way to really explore the area is to hire a car so that you can get to places off the tourist bus routes and not be tied to timetables. But check that your hotel has some sort of parking arrangement (especially if you are staying in a city centre) because on the road pay and display tickets and underground fees can be costly.
