Direct flights to Murcia are available from a number of different UK Airports including Ryanair flights from Birmingham, Bournemouth, Dublin, Nottingham East Midlands, Glasgow Prestwick, Leeds Bradford, Liverpool, London Luton and Stansted Airports and Manchester.
Jet2 flys from Belfast, Edinburgh, Leeds Bradford Manchester and Newcastle and easyJet flights operate from Bristol and London Gatwick.
Air Nostrum LA Mediterraneo operates Spanish domestic flights from Madrid Barajas.
Murcia San Javier Airport is an air station which is also open for passenger travel and used by passengers travelling to the Mar Menor as it stands on its north shoreline. It is only open part of the time for passenger flights which has resulted in a new airport being built nearby .
There is still no fixed opening for the new Corvera Airport (to be called Murcia International Airport) with a number of deadlines having come and gone with reasons given as lack of funding, no agreement over air space and time, problems with developers etc, etc.
Flights are rumoured to start operating from the airport this year and when it does open most of the flights and passenger traffic from Murcia San Javier will probably be transferred here as it is only about 30 minutes away.
None of the airlines flying into Murcia San Javier have announced any change in destination.
