Below is a guide on where to find the luggage halls and how to get to them from flights landing in (T1, T2, T3, T4 and T4S) at Madrid Airport.
If you arrive in terminals 1, 2 or 3 and need to connect to another flight departing from T4 or T4S this is a new terminal which is a bus ride away from the older buildings. You will need to catch one of the free shuttle buses which you will find outside the arrivals halls of each terminal.
They run at 5 minute intervals during the peak times with a journey time of about 7-10 minutes depending on which terminal you are travelling from.
The bus connects T1, T2 and T3 but they are joined and easily within walking distance of one another.
All of the following are located on the ground floor of terminal buildings 1, 2 and 3:
After you disembark from your flight and enter Terminal 4 head for the baggage reclaim areas (numbered 10 and 11) on the ground floor arrivals.
Here you will find a bank of monitors which you should check to find out when your luggage has been unloaded from the plane and which carousel it will appear on.
If you are arriving from Spain or a Schengen Country go to level P-2 and take passenger transit train to Terminal 4 which takes just rhee minutes. In T4 head for baggage reclaim 10 on the ground floor.
Passengers from a non-Schengen country or third country outside the EU go up to the second floor to clear security. Then go down to the lower second floor and take the connecting train to T4 where you could go to baggage reclaim 11 on the ground floor.
Non-Schengen EU country flights: go up to the second floor to clear passport control. Then go down to the second floor and board the underground train which takes you to T4 and baggage carousel 10.
