La Palma Airport Flights

There are no flights from the UK to La Palma during the winter months so the best option then is to fly into Tenerife North (or South and get a connecting bus to the other end of the island) and catch an inter island Binter Canarias flight.

During the summer months the charter airline Thomsonfly operates direct flights from Gatwick and Manchester in the UK but only on a couple of days a week so make sure you book well in advance to secure a seat.

Other Spanish airports which operate flights into La Palma include Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Madrid Barajas.

You can also fly from here to Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt,Hamburg, Munich, Nuremberg and Stuttgart Airports in Germany and Brussels and Madeira. Given the list of German destinations you will realise that this island is a very popular destination from that country.

La Palma Airport is smaller than neighbouring Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. Because it does not attract as many tourists the island is still very natural and unspoiled.

You can get a bus from outside arrivals into Santa Cruz, but bus services on the island are very limited and there are no trains.

The best way to get around is to hire a car and it is very easy to find your way round as there is a road which runs right round the island following the coastline.
