The Tiadhe Bus company operates a pretty reliable and economical service on Fuerteventura. While you will not be able to get to places off the beaten track on the island using public transport (you need a 4 wheel drive for that), it does offer a cheap way to see fair bit of Fuerteventura without hiring a car. Most of the main routes operate from the terminus at Puerto del Rosario.
The drawback is that you are tied to bus timetables and do not have the freedom and flexibility to travel in the same way that a hire car (or more expensive taxi) offers.
As you leave the arrivals hall and come out into the terminal forecourt on the ground floor you will see the bus stop to the left of the building. Two buses run from the airport every day: route 03 runs every half hour from Rosario to Caleta at a cost of €1,35 single fare and line 10 runs every two hours from Rosario, Caleta and Morro Jable costing €8,90 single fare..
The most up to date timetable and fares can be obtained at www.tiadhe.com (telephone: +34 928 852 1666). You can also find details of all the buses on the island here. There are 25 routes in all which will take you all over Fuerteventura.
The bus company has a fleet of over vehicles with passenger capacity ranging between 10 to 100 seats.
The buses are air conditioned (a must for the summer months) with heating during the winter and have ramps to assist passengers with mobility problems.
