La Coruna is in a rugged corner of Spain where much of the land is over 500 metres above sea level. The climate is temperate and heavily influenced by the Atlantic Ocean. It does display some characteristics of a Mediterranean climate, but during the autumn and winter the weather can be very unpredictable with some very strong winds and heavy rainfall between October and April. Frosts are very unusual.
Summers in La Coruna are warm, dry and sunny with hardly any rain. Temperatures are warm but rarely uncomfortably hot thanks to the cooling breezes off the sea. The Spring is cooler and a good time to visit here and visit the many attractions.
