The five main car hire firms who offer good value for money are all located on the first floor of Terminal 1 and in Terminal 2 in modules B (next to arrivals area) and C (next to the baggage reclaim area).
The city of Barcelona is only a 12km drive from the airport and it is a very direct and well signposted route which is easy to manoeuvre with a newly acquired hire car which you are still a unfamiliar with. Always drive on the right hand side of the road and take extra care if you are exiting from service stations or restaurants on the opposite side of the road,.
